Bike Week 2015

Thank you to all of our sponsors, volunteers, partners and steering committee for making the second annual Bike Week Winnipeg a great event.We look forward to 2016!

Here are the highlights from 2015:

  • 48 different bike related events over 7 days
  • An estimated 3000 people attending Bike Week events
  • 15 group/theme rides
  • 6286 people subscribed to the Bike Week e-newsletters
  • Over 500 current Twitter followers
  • 1644 Facebook followers
  • Over 200 people attending the kickoff Breakfast on Bikes
  • Over 500 bike tires and tubes recycled as part of a Tire Stewardship Manitoba promotion
  • 450 people attending the Half Pints Bikes and BBQ Celebration
  • 1 free concert using Bike Week’s bike powered concert system
  • 59 pit stops on the morning of Bike to Work Day
  • 2285 cyclists counted riding to work at 10 high traffic locations on Bike to Work Day
  • 100+ people who visited more than 8 pit stops on Bike to Work Day
  • Over 80 Bike Week volunteers and over 1600 volunteer hours
  • Approximately 200 community volunteers running events and pit stops
  • As many as 200 people visiting a single pit stop
  • Approximately 40 people attending the Bike to Work Day group ride with Mayor Brian Bowman
  • 29 hours on a bike, longest Bike to Work Day non-stop commute by Arvid Loewen
  • Significant media coverage and live TV broadcasts (City TV, CTV & Global) at events
