Are you ready to make a difference? Join us in advocating for the health, environmental and community benefits of choosing to get on your bikes and ride in 2013!
Thanks to our sponsors Bike to Work Day 2012 was a success. An estimated 4600 people were counted cycling on event day last year with over 3800 cyclists registering at event locations and online (compared to 2500 registrants in previous years). Thousands more saw the Bike to Work Day banners, posters and bus shelter signs all over the city. Our sponsors’ participation allowed us to give away 400 free t-shirts, 500 BBQ dinners, hundreds of prizes, snacks and refreshments.
The pre-launch announcements and the event itself received extensive media coverage on major TV networks (Global, CityTV) and generated stories on CBC radio. 2013 marks the 6th annual event in June, but more importantly will launch the expansion of our programming to include a Bike to School Event (May, 2013) and a Winter Bike to Work Day (February 15, 2013).
Bike to Work/School will happen because of you, our generous sponsors. As our event expands throughout the city, and we provide more programming throughout the year, we have also increased our ability to recognize the organizations who support our event. This year we expect increased name recognition by building on past years’ success, there will be more participants, more events and a heightened presence throughout all corners of the city. This year’s event will feature new as well as previous sponsorship opportunities at various donation levels.
